The last Minecraft 3DS update has arrived and it's bringing with it a bunch of new goodies for fans of the blocky building game. The game has editions on every modern console (and most of the last gen, too) and has sold over 100 million copies. This will be the final update for the New Nintendo 3DS version of the game.

To start, creepy Woodland Mansions have finally made it into this portable version of the game. These scary structures are home to "illagers", evil Villagers with strange powers. Vindicators, Evokers, and Vexes have been added to populate these mansions. Woodland Mansions can be found in Dark Forest and Dark Forest Hills biomes.

On the more peaceful side of things, llamas and cartographer villagers are now in the game. Explorer maps have also been added, giving players the opportunity to find points of interest in the game world more easily. World generation has added underground fossils and natural magma block generation in the Nether.

There are also two new enchantments being added to the game. Frost Walker creates ice blocks when you walk over water, removing any need for building a bridge yourself. The much more interesting addition is the Mending enchantment. This particular spell allows you to repair items with gathered experience, but it prevents that experience from being added to your current level.

Finally, here are the new blocks and items that are making their way into this last Minecraft 3DS update:

  • Concrete
  • Concrete Powder
  • Glazed Terracotta
  • Shulker Box
  • Frosted Ice
  • Totem of Undying
  • Iron & Gold Nuggets
  • Magma block
  • Bone block
  • Nether wart block
  • Red nether brick
  • Spawn Eggs (Llama, Vindicator, Evoker, Vex)
You can read more about these individual items at the Minecraft wiki.

That's it for the new goodies! There won't be any more updates to the Minecraft 3DS version any longer—this is the final update for the New Nintendo 3DS edition of the game. If you don't yet already own the game, you can grab it on the Nintendo eShop for $29.99 or your regional equivalent.

What do you think about the last Minecraft 3DS update? Are you sad that the game won't be getting any new content or are you fine with this particular version reaching its end of life? Let us know in the comments below!
