Today Koei Tecmo America released a batch of new screenshots, a trailer and information on the new stages and the 'Deception Studio' for Deception IV: The Nightmare Princess.
As with previous entries in the series, staging plays a very important role in creating domino-effect trap combos in Deception IV: The Nightmare Princess. While Laegrinna - the protagonist from Deception IV: Blood Ties- lured her victims in medieval castles and ancient ruins, Velguirie - the new character of Deception IV: The Nightmare Princess- has the ability to face her foes between the waking world and dreams, giving her much more diverse and playful ways of trapping her prey.
In the Gymnasium, she can use balance beams, spring boards, ball throwers and basketball hoops. In the Playground, she forces her victims down slides, flings them in the air with a Panda and onto merry-go-rounds. In the Hospital, she ties them down onto operation tables, electrocutes them and scares them with oversized syringes. These distorted every-day locations are the perfect settings for Velguirie to regain her strength on her rise to power. By completing guests and defeating enemies, more of her story will be revealed, leading up to a dramatic finale.
Koei Tecmo has also added a brand-new edition to the game which is a mode called 'Deception Studio.' Using the tools in this mode, players can create their own characters for the Deception Princesses to defeat. Options will include appearance, weapon and outfit choices, name and background story, as well as immunities, resistances and strengths. Finishing certain requirements in the main quest mode will award players with even more items to customize their enemies.

Koei Tecmo is also offering exclusive pre-order DLC bonus traps available for those who pre-order from GameStop. This exclusive DLC set includes a 'grill' trap (essentially a fire-walking pit), a 'kick-off' trap (an apparatus that kicks soccer balls) and a 'golden toilet' trap. The game will be available on the PlayStation 4 system across North America on July 14, 2015. It will also be available as a digital download on the PlayStation 3 and the Vita system via the PlayStation Store.
