Killing Floor 2

Killing Floor 2, the sequel to 2009's cooperative first person shooter Killing Floor, is being developed and published by Tripwire Interactive for the PC and SteamOS for release in 2015. I have rounded up the best news so far for this gore filled survival horror game so you can know what to expect when it is released next year.

Specimens returning from Killing Floor:

  • Clot
  • Crawler
  • Fleshpound
  • Bloat
  • Gorefast
  • Stalker
  • Husk
  • Siren
  • Scrake
New specimens from Killing Floor 2:
  • Slasher
  • Cyst
Creative Director of Tripwire Interactive, William Munk has stated that the game features 12 creatures. I have listed 11 so far, so if creatures includes bosses, that means that the 12th spot will be for the boss character. The animations for the specimens have been acted by motion capture actor Jackamo Harvey:

Tripwire has posted some background information / lore for Killing Floor 2:

players descend into continental Europe where the outbreak caused by Horzine Biotech’s failed experiment has quickly spread and gained unstoppable momentum, essentially paralyzing the European Union— Just one month after the events in the original KILLING FLOOR, the specimen clones are everywhere and civilization is in disarray; communications have failed, governments have collapsed, and military forces have been systematically eradicated. The people of Europe know survival and self-preservation too well and lucky survivors have gone into hiding. Not all have given up hope though... A group of civilians and mercenaries have banded together to combat the outbreak and established privately funded operation bases across Europe. Upon tracking specimen clone outbreaks, players will descend into zed-laden hot zones and exterminate them.
So the setting for the new maps would appear to be locales in mainland Europe, with Paris being a confirmed location.

PC Gamer wrote an article about their exclusive first look at KF2, mentioning a lot of new details about the game.
