Three more games have joined the growing list of backwards compatible titles for the Xbox One.

An announcement made on twitter today by Larry "MajorNelson" Hryb revealed that Aliens vs Predator, Sonic Unleashed, and Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning would all be backwards compatible starting today for the system.

The 2010 version of Aliens vs. Predator was a first-person shooter game by developer Rebellion, made by most of the original team for the first Alien vs Predator games both in 1994 and 1999. The game has players in the roles of three factions, the human Colonial Marines, a Predator Hunter, and an Alien, each with their own unique style of gameplay.

Sonic Unleashed, first released in 2008 by the Sonic Team. Nicknamed 'werewolf sonic' by fans, it is primarily an action-platformer that has Sonic transform into a werehog, allowing him to beat up enemies through various in-game levels.

The last game, Kingdoms of Amalur; Reckoning, was developed by the now-defunct 38 Studios and Big Huge Games. The game is an action RPG where the player must traverse the Faelands to fight a growing threat known as the Tuatha Deohn, a group of corrupted Fae who aim to kill all mortals in their lands for good.

Both Aliens vs. Predator and Sonic Unleashed were published by Sega, while Kingdoms of Amalur has a more checkered history due to the now-famous financial troubles that plagued 38 Studios after the game was launched, including issues with the state of Rhode Island the ongoing development of the MMO nicknamed Project Copernicus. It was only recently that THQ Nordic acquired the rights to the Kingdoms of Amalur property, meaning its availability as a backwards compatible title may be directly linked to its new publisher.

All three games are now available to play on the Xbox One.
