Tripwire Interactive has announced today that its highly successful co-op sci-fi horror FPS game, Killing Floor 2, will be launching globally on November 18, 2016 for the PC and PS4.

In Killing Floor 2, players will descend into continental Europe where the outbreak caused by Horzine Biotech’s failed experiment has quickly spread and gained unstoppable momentum. The gameplay takes place just one month after the events of the first Killing Floor , where the specimen clones are everywhere and "civilization is in disarray." Communications have failed, governments have collapsed, and military forces have been "systematically eradicated" worldwide.

With everything seeming hopeless, one group of civilians and mercenaries have banded together to combat the outbreak and established privately funded operation bases across Europe.

The game features "Visceral Gore" with a brand new blood system which will allow players to "send entrails, severed limbs, and blood flying as they wade through hordes of enemies." If caught, enemies can do the same to the player, and "rip them, and their entire party limb from limb."

The game also features 6 player co-op, solo play, and 12 player PvP Versus Survival where "two teams take turns playing Humans vs. Zeds in a pair of short matches."

New enemies will be added to the game along with a unique blend of weaponry ranging from assault rifles to "Mad Scientist" weapons. Along with all this will be a new and expanded perk system made for different play styles, and a reinvented "Brutal Melee Combat' system which allows players to control the type of melee attacks they can perform to bring about "bone breaking, crippling attacks to Zeds."

The first game in the series has "Overwhelmingly Positive" reviews on Steam, while the early access version of the second game was "Mostly Positive" reviews so far.
