When Square Enix really got into promoting Final Fantasy XV a few months ago, they announced a series of tie-in games to go with it. Among these were Justice Monster Five and King's Knight: Wraith of the Dark Dragon, a pair of mobile games that would tie into the main game. Unfortunately, it seems not all has gone well, as Justice Monster Five will be ending its service by March, while King's Knight is being delayed.

Justice Monster Five is a pinball game and serves as the main minigame for Final Fantasy XV. It takes place in a cartoon world where you play as a group of superhero monsters fighting against evil. The game was released for iOS and Android on August 30th, 2016, letting players give the upcoming minigame a shot. Unfortunately, it seems Justice Monster Five never caught on as Square Enix has announced, on the game's Japanese Twitter account, they will be shutting down the game. While you are still able to play it and buy microtransactions, for now, the ability to purchase them will end on February 27th, 2017. A month later, on March 27th, 2017, the game will be shut down. At the current time, it is unknown if all versions of the game shall be shut down or just the Japanese one. A Windows 10 port of the game was in development, and its fate is also currently unknown.

As for King's Knight: Wraith of the Dark Dragon, the game was announced to be delayed on its Twitter account. The game serves both as a remake and a tie-in to Final Fantasy XV. The original King's Knight was released in 1986 for the Famicon and later got brought to America and the NES in 1989. You played as one of four characters, and the game was a vertical shooter where you moved up while shooting at enemies, discovering secrets, and leveling up your character. In Final Fantasy XV the game is brought up from time to time, with the characters mentioning that they are playing it during breaks.

While it's a shame to hear about Justice Monster Five's service being shut down, at least we can still look forward to King's Knight: Wraith of the Dark Dragon, which is coming to iOS and Android sometime in 2017.
