As the summer starts to roll around there is the usual dearth of video game releases for July. However, there is still quite a few remasters that people will be looking forward to as well as some more niche or indie games.

July 3rd

Red Faction: Guerrilla Re-Mars-tered (PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows)

Set 50 years after the original Red Faction, Red Faction: Guerrilla Re-Mars-tered is set to be released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows on July 3rd. This is a remaster with updated graphics and 4k support.

Runbow (PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch)

Originally released for Wii U back in 2015 (a PC release followed in 2016, with New 3DS and Xbox One getting releases in 2017) Runbow will come to PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch on July 3rd. This is a multiplayer face paced platformer.

July 4th

Nekopara Vol. 1 (PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch)

Delayed from last month Nekopara Vol. 1 releases on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch on July 4th. Originally released for PC back in 2014,  this indie adventure game sees you take part in a maid cafe.

July 10th

Shining Resonance Refrain (PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows, Nintendo Switch)

The return of the Shining Resonance series

The latest in the Shining series, Shining Resonance Refrain comes to PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows on July 10th. This is the first (non-fighting game) entry into the Shining series in the West for over a decade.

20XX (PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch)

Released on PC in August of last year, 20XX comes to PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch on July 10th and Xbox One on July 10th. This roguelite platformer is heavily inspired by the Megaman series.

Defiance 2050 (PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows)

A free-to-play title Defiance 2050 comes to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows on July 1oth. This is a shooter with massive co-op play set in a future universe.

The Spectrum Retreat (PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows)

Releasing for PlayStation 4 on July 10th and Xbox One and Microsoft Windows on July 13th we have The Spectrum Retreat. This is a first-person puzzle adventure game.

July 13th

Captain Toad Treasure Tracker (Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo Switch)

Originally released back on Wii U in 2014 Captain Toad Treasure Tracker comes to modern consoles on Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo Switch on July 13th. This puzzle game has all new levels set in Super Mario Odyssey’s  New Donk City.

Danger Zone 2 (PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows)

A new sequel Danger Zone 2 releases on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows on July 13th. Set in the USA, UK, and Spain players can race and crash for cash.

Earthfall (PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows)

Finally coming out of Early Access, Earthfall will release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows on July 13th. In this game, human forces try to push back against an alien invasion.

Octopath Traveller (Nintendo Switch)

The latest Square Enix RPG Octopath Traveller is coming exclusively to Nintendo Switch on July 13th. This latest game is made by the same team which was behind the Bravely Default series of games.

July 16th

Groove Coaster for Steam (Microsoft Windows)

Originally a smartphone game Groove Coaster for Steam comes to Steam on July 16th. This rollercoaster rhythm game has 36 new tracks for the Steam release.

July 17th

Sonic Mania Plus (PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows, Nintendo Switch)

The first time physically

Sonic Mania gets its first ever physical release with Sonic Mania Plus for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows and Nintendo Switch on July 17th. This release comes with 2 new playable characters and 4 players multiplayer mode. It will also be available as DLC for those who own the original.

Touhou Genso Warrior Reloaded (PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch)

A remake of a NISA classic Touhou Genso Warrior Reloaded comes to PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch on July 17th. This dungeon crawler includes 2 new, playable party members.

Adventure Time: Pirates of the Enchiridion (PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows, Nintendo Switch)

From the famous TV show Adventure Time: Pirates of the Enchiridion comes to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows and Nintendo Switch on July 17th. This is the latest action adventure game featuring Finn and Jake.

July 19th

Pool Panic (Microsoft Windows, Nintendo Switch)

The latest game by adult swim Pool Panic comes to Microsoft Windows and Nintendo Switch on July 19th. There are over 100 levels in this pool based game.

July 24th

Megaman X Legacy Collection 1 + 2 (PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch)

Megaman X Legacy Collection 1 + 2 will be released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch on July 24th. The first collection will include Megaman X – X4 while the second contains Megaman X5-X8. The collections will be available separately and as a set.

The Persistence (PlayStation VR)

Available exclusively to PlayStation VR The Persistence is available from July 24th. This is a stealth first person, horror, roguelike where you character changes with each death.

The Banner Saga 3 (PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows, Nintendo Switch)

The release of the third installment in the series The Banner Saga series will be released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows and Nintendo Switch on July 24th. There will be a complete release of all three Banner Saga games with an art book called The Banner Saga TrilogyBonus Edition for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

No Man’s Sky (Xbox One)

First time on Xbox One

Originally released for PlayStation 4 and PC in 2016, No Man’s Sky comes to Xbox One for the first time on July 24th. While it had a controversial release with missing features many of these have been added in subsequent patches and there is going to be an update adding multiplayer for all systems on this date.

July 26th

Sleep Tight (Microsoft Windows, Nintendo Switch)

Based on childhood adventures Sleep Tight releases on Microsoft Windows and Nintendo Switch on July 26th. This fast-paced twin-stick shooter uses lots of childlike weaponry.

July 27th

Hello, Neighbor (PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Android, iOS)

Originally released on Xbox One and PC last year, Hello, Neighbor comes to PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Android and iOS on July 27th. You are a concerned neighbor trying to sneak around your neighbor’s house to discover the dealing going on.

Go Vacation (Nintendo Switch)

Similar to the Wii Resort games Go Vacation releases for Nintendo Switch on July 27th. It boasts over 50 co-op and competitive activities.

July 31st

Titan Quest (Nintendo Switch)

Coming out in March for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One Titan Quest comes to Nintendo Switch on July 31st. This is a top-down, hack and slash RPG
