Rare's latest Xbox One and PC exclusive, Sea of Thieves, will receive its largest update yet at the end of this month. Called the Anniversary Update, it will add three major facets to the pirate simulator. These are Arena Mode, Tall Tales: Shores of Gold, and the Hunter's Call trading company. At today's Inside Xbox stream, Microsoft announced more details.

The Arena Mode adds a competitive mode to Sea of Thieves. Players can compete with each other in multiple ways, including treasure hunting and ship battling.

Hunter's Call will be a brand new trading company that joins the world of Sea of Thieves. This company provides a new outlet for players to work for. Obviously, the company specializes in hunting, so players can now fish in the game.

Your spoils can be turned into the company for some money, and you'll also be able to upgrade your rod. You can also cook these rewards using the newly added cooking feature. if you properly prepare a meal, you'll get a stat boost for a limited time.

For the more froggy players, harpoon guns can be added to your ships. These can be used like grappling hooks, allowing you to reel in items you find out on the seas. Additionally, you can hook onto terrain, using it as leverage for making tighter turns.
