Netherrealm Studios has posted another trailer for the upcoming fighting game Injustice 2, with the trailer focused on some of the more prominent DC villains in the game, showing off some gameplay of two known characters, and two newly introduced ones.

Gorilla Grodd & Bane, both of whom were announced in previous updates, get a chance to shine a bit, showing off some of their moves and interactions with the likes of Green Lantern and Firestorm.

The other two characters are Captain Cold and The Scarecrow. Captain Cold is shown cracking jokes while he takes on the likes of Superman, complete with his freeze gun and various kicks and punches. Scarecrow is much more terrifying, with a grotesque look combined with a giant hook and chain to snare enemies with while he inflicts fear upon his foes, including terrifying Harley Quinn.

Interestingly enough, Scarecrow was rumored to be in the game for a little while now, as his voice actor, the horror icon Robert Englund, was credited for the role weeks prior to the announcement. After the trailer launched, Englund confirmed it was his voice for the character.

The video also showcased a pre-order bonus character for players, the New God Darkseid as well.

In total, the roster of Injustice 2 currently features 28 superheroes and villains from DC Comics, with only a select core of them being returning characters from the game. Netherrealm Studios head Ed Boon also promised that at least nine more characters will be released as DLC for the title (including Darkseid), and the chance for a “guest” character from the Mortal Kombat series is also likely. It is currently unknown if more superheroes or villains will be added to the main roster at this time.

Injustice 2 is slated for a release on the PS4, Xbox One and iOS devices on May 16th.
