The DC Universe is a big place, filled with countless fighters with unique powers. As such, it should come as no surprise that when it comes time to make a DC fighting game, there are plenty of characters to choose from. Hot off the heels of last week's Black Canary reveal, NetherRealm Studios has confirmed three new super-powered brawlers for their upcoming DC smackdown Injustice 2, as well as show off the return of an old favorite.

They kicked off the announcements yesterday with the reveal of Swamp Thing, a powerful plant elemental. First introduced in 1971, Swamp Thing is a powerful bruiser best known from Alan Moore's critically acclaimed comic run of the same name, as well as Wes Craven's 1982 film adaptation. As showcased in the trailer, Swamp Thing has control over the earth's vegetation, allowing him to manipulate plantlife for devastating attacks.

Of course, Swamp Thing is hardly the only character in DC's roster with a green thumb. This morning, NetherRealm released a second reveal trailer showcasing returning fighter Catwoman, as well as newcomers Black Canary, Cheetah, and the similarly garden-friendly Poison Ivy. While we've already seen Black Canary at work thanks to last week's trailer, this is the first time we get a glimpse of the other three in action.

While Catwoman, Cheetah, and Canary don't get much screen time in the trailer, we do get a decent look at Poison Ivy's moveset. To the surprise of none, along with the usual barrage of punches and kicks found in fighters, Ivy can also incorporate her control of plants to mix up her attacks, including an Audrey II-esque carnivorous plant in her super. Undoubtedly, the closer we get to Injustice 2's May release date, the more details will be revealed, so keep your eyes peeled!

Injustice 2 releases for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on May 17th, 2017. Give us your thoughts on the new additions down in the comments!
