An indie game focusing on the unique terror of trying to stealthily watch porn on dial-up internet called You Must be 18 or Older to Enter has been banned from Steam as reported by Rock, Paper, Shotgun.

Before the era of bountiful digital erotica, those of us lucky enough to have a computer and an Internet connection would have to sneak to the family computer and look up images (not even video!) of our particular preferred partners. People who grew up in the late 90s were fortunate enough to at least get decent quality jpeg images, but those that came before us had to make do with tantalizing ASCII art. (I understand that there might be a generational disconnect here, but I assure you that this was very much a real thing.)

Therein lies the lure of You Must be 18 or Older to Enter, a horror game smartly focused on the quest to look up naughty images without getting caught by your parents. Have a look at the game's (mildly NSFW) trailer to get a feel for the tribulations some of us had to suffer through in our youth:

Although the imagery may have been tantalizing for its time, nowadays it pales in comparison to the offerings out there today. That's what makes this next bit especially strange - Valve has removed the game from the Steam platform according to the developers. It had been on the platform for two months before the devs were notified by a fan over Twitter inquiring about the game. According to the devs, Valve likened the game to porn and thus removed it from the store.

Whether or not you think it's fit to be on the Steam platform, You Must be 18 or Older to Enter is no longer available on Steam. If you'd like to give this alternative horror game a go, you can still grab it for free on Itch.Io and GameJolt.

What do you think of Valve removing You Must be 18 or Older to Enter from Steam? Do you think they might the right call? Let us know in the comments below!
