While most of Humble Bundle’s bundles are PC-focused, every now and again they throw a curve ball. This time we see the Humble Friends of Nintendo Bundle, which features games for the Nintendo Wii U and Nintendo 3DS.

The first tier includes three games and can be purchased for as cheap as one dollar. For the Nintendo 3DS you’ll get Retro City Rampage DX, a top-down shooter that plays similar to the old Grand Theft Auto games. The DX version also includes three new mini games and the original prototype of the game. The Wii U instead gets Affordable Space Adventures, a co-op puzzle game that uses the Wii U’s gamepad in a unique way that allows you to control the ship’s functions from it. Finally, both the Wii U and 3DS gets Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse, a Metroidvania and the third game in the popular Shantae series. This tier also includes a 10% off coupon for the Humble Monthly Bundle, which will unlock on Friday, May 6th.

Freedom Planet

The second tier is the beat the average tier, and once again it includes three more games. The 3DS will get Rhythm Thief & the Emperor’s Treasures. This rhythm game has you partaking in a bunch of different rhythm minigames to steal treasures. Wii U owners will get Freedom Planet, a sonic-like 2D platformer based around moving fast that is to Sega Megadrive platformers what Shovel Knight is to SNES platformers. We’ve written a very positive review of this game on our site. Finally, both 3DS and Wii U owners will get Citizens of Earth, a political jRPG that was made in homage to Earthbound. People who buy this tier will also get a special Retro City Rampage DX theme for their 3DS. You’ll also get future games added to the bundle at this tier.

The last tier is available for a flat price of $13 and only includes two more games. The 3DS gets Super Street Fighter IV: 3D Edition, a 3DS port of the well loved fighting game. On the other side, Wii U owners will get Darksiders II, the sequel to the action/Zelda-styled dungeon exploring original game.

If you’re looking for a more PC-focused bundle, last weeks Devolver Digital Bundle is still up and has two new games added to it. OlliOlli 2: Welcome to Olliwood is a 2D skateboarding game that requires some real precision. We have a positive review of this game as well. The second game is Noct, an early access multiplayer top down shooter. You can read our preview of it here.

    Is this for US only_

  • Michele

    From the description:
Nintendo eShop codes can only be redeemed on Nintendo eShop in Europe and South Africa. They will not work on American or Japanese Wii U or Nintendo 3DS devices.

  • Aiat

Oh cool, I vaguely remember one being US only. I will get the basic pack then!

  • Michele

I remember it too ( I forgot what bundle it was ). For once european gamers get a deal too 🙂
For that price it’s actually a pretty good one considering the price on the eShop.

    The message i’m getting is:
Nintendo eShop codes can only be redeemed on Nintendo eShop in Australia
and New Zealand. They will not work on American or Japanese Wii U or
    Nintendo 3DS devices.

clearly it’s keyed to wherever you’re connecting from. This would be worth getting if I didn’t already own most of these games on multiple platforms.

Interesting. So essentially you can buy it everywhere but cannot gift it to other countries. That’s due to the nintendo consoles being region locked, they have to provide a code that won’t work everywhere.
