After a successful Kickstarter, Sekai Project is bringing Favorite's Hoshizora no Memoria ~Wish Upon a Shooting Star~ to Steam later this month. The Kickstarter, which ran in May, raised enough funds to support the release of Hoshizora no Memoria's "Complete Edition," which includes the fandisc content. Said fandisc adds two new routes and a number of side stories for the heroines, as well as tying up a number of the routes. The all-ages Steam release will be the first official English release of Hoshizora no Memoria, and it comes with a new translation to boot. When Hoshizora no Memoria releases on December 18th via Steam, it can be picked up for $19.99.

Hoshizora no Memoria follows the life of Kogasaka You and his sister, Chinami. After their mother passes away, You and Chiaki move back to Hibarigasaki, their childhood home, to live with their aunt. Though the town is largely unchanged, the cliffside lookout where he spent much of his childhood has since been closed off, and upon returning, he has a run-in with a girl claiming to be the "Grim Reaper," and wielding a giant scythe. You has several more meetings with girls from his past, one of whom he made a promise to years ago, before moving to the city. Hoshizora no Memoria's routes thus follow You as he attempts to discover who exactly his childhood friend was, and who the mysterious "Grim Reaper" is.

Hoshizora no Memoria is one of the most popular visual novels in the English-language community, clocking in at number 20 by popularity on VNDB, and holding a respectable 69th ranking overall by score. It's also not the highest-profile visual novel published by Sekai Project, as that award squarely belongs to CLANNAD, whose associated Kickstarter made Sekai Project into a household name, at least among in the English-speaking visual novel community.

Sekai Project themselves have also found considerable success in the crowdfunding community, starting 17 campaigns and failing to fund only one of those, a "Boys' Love" visual novel. Among their accomplishments include an animated special for the Nekopara series of visual novels, and publishing 86 games (so far) on Steam. With several more visual novels to look forward to in early 2018, fans of Sekai Project's work have much to look forward to. In the meantime, Hoshizora no Memoria will be releasing on December 18th on Steam to tide everyone over.
