For Honor Dominion

In what seems to be the biggest opening week for a video game based on a new IP since last year's No Man's Sky, Ubisoft Montreal's third person action game For Honor is now topping the sales chart in the UK. For Honor is also the first chart-topping release Ubisoft have released since the release of Tom Clancy's The Division in March of last year, with For Honor claiming 57% of sales for the PlayStation 4 and 43% for the Xbox One according to Ukie (UK Interactive Entertainment Association).

For Honor pits Feudal knights, Vikings, and Samurai against each other in a desperate struggle for survival and resources after a calamity reshaped the world into one marred by strife and violent conflict. The players are tasked with taking part in this war in solo or co-op matches. The game's gameplay sits somewhere in between Chivalry: Medieval Warfare and Dark Souls, with players needing to hone their skills in close-quarters combat with swords and axes.

Here are the other games that make up this week's top 10:

  1. For Honor
  2. Sniper Elite 4
  3. Grand Theft Auto V
  4. FIFA 17
  5. Battlefield 1
  6. Resident Evil 7: Biohazard
  7. Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare
  8. Rocket League
  9. Forza Horizon 3
  10. Watch Dogs 2
Sniper Elite 4 seems to be performing well with the game sitting at a comfortable 77 on Metacritic and rounding out the top 3 is, unsurprisingly, Grand Theft Auto V. Rockstar's open world crime game has never stopped reeling people in, and their continuous stream of free updates to the game's online component hasn't stopped the game from being as prolific as it is, even though the game is several years old at this point. Battlefield 1 also does not seem to want to quit, with other big releases like Watch Dogs 2 and Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare all enjoying a spot on this list, despite talk surrounding those games having died down shortly after they were released. It's great to see that Rocket League still has very little problems maintaining and growing their audience, which is way more than one would've expected when the game launched back in 2015.

I've been playing games since I was just barely able to walk so I might as well write about them.
