Blizzard has announced that they fixed the problem regarding duplicate cards in Mean Streets of Gadgetzan. As compensation for those who opened packs before 2:30 PM Est and were impacted by it, they will receive an additional 33% packs of Gadgetzan added to their account, rounded up with a minimum of one.

The latest expansion for the popular card game HearthstoneMean Streets of Gadgetzan has been released... with a major bug.

The expansion focuses on the city of Gadgetzan, a lawless city controlled by three powerful gangs, the Grimy Goons, the Jade Lotus, and the Kabal. All three gangs offer new styles of play for Hearthstone veterans, using the three gangs to custom-make their decks to fit new play-styles.

“With Mean Streets of Gadgetzan, we’re introducing some exciting new mechanics to give deck-builders all-new ways to play Hearthstone,” stated Mike Morhaime, CEO and co-founder of Blizzard Entertainment.

A total of 132 cards will be introduced into Hearthstone, leading to a total of 1970 cards for the game since its release in 2014. The last large expansion to Hearthstone was Whispers of the Old Gods, released in April of 2016.

However, it was discovered fairly quickly that a major bug is also plaguing the expansion. The bug in question is giving players a disproportionately large number of duplicate cards from the games card packs, sometimes three or four of the same card in a single pack purchase. The cards are stemming from the packs for Mean Streets of Gadgetzan, and Blizzard is aware of the problem and are working on a fix.

Currently, there is no fix for the bug, other than Blizzard being aware of the problem and working on fixing a solution.

When it is fixed, we will update this article to let you know.

Quick Take

Right now, it's probably best to not buy any packs for Mean Streets of Gadgetzan, just to be safe. It would be horrible to see all the hard-earned gold or worse, real world currency. Unless, of course, you want a lot of duplicate cards, but that does seem a bit excessive to me. I doubt Blizzard will keep this bug standing for long, but for now be aware you might get more duplicate cards than you might think.

What do you think, though? Is it worth the risk? Leave your comments below!
