Hand of Fate 2 Combat

Hand of Fate 2, the sequel to 2015's Hand of Fate that was revealed last year, will be coming to consoles and PC on November 7.

Hand of Fate 2 is a game where players build a deck of cards like, well, a deckbuilding game. The twist is that the deck of cards you build is used to determine a number of encounters that you must work your way through in a roguelike-style game. (This may be one of the few times you're lucky that you haven't put together an absolute monster of a deck.) Players are once again going up against the Dealer, a magical villain who is has a proclivity for torturing heroes with enchanted cards. Have a look at the game's release date trailer to get an idea of how things will look:

New to the series are companions, assistants who will join you both in combat and the board game outside of the action RPG bits of the game. Each companion has their own story and dialogue for players to follow along with. Of course, a host of new weapon types, fighting styles, cards, bosses, and enemy types have made their way into the sequel as well.

If you enjoyed the first game and are keen on getting the sequel, you won't have to wait for long - Hand of Fate 2 will be coming to PC (for Windows, Mac, & Linux), the PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on November 7, 2017. If you'd like to add the game to your Steam wishlist you can do so here. The game will retail for $29.99 or your regional equivalent. If tabletop games are more of your kind of jam, you might want to have a look at our preview of Hand of Fate: Ordeals.
