Halo 5 Warzone Firefight Grunt Goblin

343 Industries have revealed more details to Polygon regarding Halo 5: Guardians' upcoming Warzone Firefight mode. Specifically, there were details given regarding two new additions, one new boss to take down and one new UNSC flying vehicle to pilot yourself. The boss character is a bipedal Goblin mech piloted by a Grunt and wielding a Heavy Needler that is bigger than a Spartan. This impressive weapon can spray blamite crystals at up to eight targets at once, as well as focus fire on vehicles that are disabled by its EMP pulse capabilities.

The Grunt jockey piloting the mech will do what most Grunst do best, and lay on the "witty" taunts during battle. The Grunt Goblin is the first unit to ever be created exclusively for Warzone, and it will sadly not be a pilotable vehicle or able to be hijacked.

Let's all hope that third time's the charm when it comes to UNSC flying vehicles.

Thankfully, the other new addition coming during the Warzone Firefight update will be fully pilotable. The Wasp is a UNSC VTOL equipped with machines guns and twin rocket launchers. Armor is weak, but it is equipped with an energy shield that will allow you to dive bomb opponents and then retreat to fight another day. The Wasp will be a full vehicle addition to the game, playable via REQ deployment in Warzone and usable in Arena maps made in Forge as well.

Halo 5's Warzone Firefight update is set to launch in just a few short weeks. For more details regarding the update in general and a preview of some of the new maps and REQs coming to the game, check out Halo Waypoint's latest community update.

Quick Take

My Xbox Live Gamertag is NeedlerFanPudge, so I don't have to tell you how thrilled I am to see that 343 is adding a giant clumsy Needler-wielding Grunt robot to Warzone. I have been constantly impressed with the continued support that Halo 5 has gotten after release, and I can't wait to see what else is in the Firefight update when it launches.

Are you excited to take on giant robotic Grunts armed with Needlers? Have you been dreaming about this moment for years without knowing it like I have been? Answer these questions and MORE in the comments below!
