Halo 5: Guardians may be over a year old at this point, but 343 industries are far from done adding new content to the game's multiplayer modes. In addition to the all but confirmed additions of Halo Reach's grenade launcher, Halo 3's Anti-Air Wraith and the trusty Sentinel Beam in the next update, it seems that developers have something a bit more interesting up their sleeves.

Roscoex on r/Halo has posted several images of an Xbox store page detailing a new "Voices of War" REQ Pack for Halo 5. This pack would unlock the option to replace classic Halo multiplayer announcer Jeff Steitzer for the first time in franchise history. In addition, your selection will also override Sarah Palmer's "helpful" tips on the Warzone side. Players can choose from Spartan Buck (known to non-Halo fans as Firefly star Nathan Fillion), a Grunt known as Yapda the Merciless (which will most likely resemble the announcements that come from the Grunt Goblin in Firefight), and the darling wonder that is 031 Exuberant Witness (otherwise known as the pink Guilty Spark from Halo 5's campaign). The REQ Pack is free in the leaked images, but the image suggests that it will be a premium pack in the same vein as the purchasable (Affiliate) REQ bundles that are already available.

Halo leaker du jour Gamecheat13 chimed in on Twitter to comment on how solid the screenshots seem at this time. Going by his expertise in the matter and the lack of temporary assets being used here, it's safe to assume that the "Voices of War" will be hitting Halo 5 sooner rather than later.

Quick Take

This new content is slightly out of left field, but it's definitely something I would buying. As much as I love the original sounds of "Killtacular" and "Killing Spree", I'm not sure I could pass up the chance to hear Exuberant Witness stumble through announcing headshots and exterminations despite not having a concept of violence. She was just that darn cute.

What is your take on 343's latest expansion of Halo 5's offerings? How much would you pay for a multiplayer announcer pack? Will Snoop Dogg return to the world of announcing after his one and done appearance in Call of Duty: Ghosts? Answer these questions and more in the comments below!
