GWENT, the card game sourced from the universe of The Witcher, has released the Gold Immunity update according to an announcement on GOG.com. Additionally, a new starter pack has been made available for purchase for players both old and new.

Starting things off, a list of 21 cards will have increased milling value for the first 3 days after the release of the patch. The cards, when milled, will provide scraps and meteorite powder equal to the amount needed to craft a card of the same value. Milling aside, the update is also adding 30 new cards to the game.

New social features, a player profile, a news feed, and a notification system have been added to the game. The social elements are complemented by the addition of competitive elements: Pro Ladder functionality has been added into the game and opens up to the player base on September 1, 2017. A number of other small balance changes and gameplay enhancements have been implemented as well; you can read them all in the full changelog for the update here.

Alongside the changes and fixes to GWENT, a brand new Starter Pack is now available for $4.99 [Affiliate Link] or your regional equivalent. The GWENT Starter Pack is a one-time purchase available for players both new and old. You'll be able to pick one of three random Legendary Cards, receive 10 Card Kegs (with 5 cards apiece, for a total of 51 cards), and 400 Meteorite Powder which will allow you to transmute cards into their animated and voiced premium versions.

Disclosure: GOG is partnered with TechRaptor for affiliate partnership, and TechRaptor earns a small commission off purchases made from the above links. In addition, GOG provides a monthly discount and giveaway to our Pack Hunter members.

What do you think of the changes made to GWENT in the Gold Immunity update? Do you think the Starter Pack is a good value at its current price point? What features do you feel the game is currently sorely lacking? Let us know in the comments below!
