Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN-

Japanese Publisher and Developer Arc System works recently announced that a slew of titles are making their way to Steam in over the next year. The most prominent of which is the absolutely fantastic Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- released on consoles earlier this year. Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- is due for release on 10th of December for $29.99 with a 20% discount for a week and All DLC available free for the first month after release. Plans for the PC release of the upcoming update to the Xrd series Guilty Gear Xrd -Revelator- were not mentioned.

Arc System Works released a tweet today showing the upcoming 6 titles to be ported to steam in over the next year: Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN-, Under Night: In Birth EXE Late, Melty Blood Actress Again Current Code, Blazblue Chrono Phantasma Extend and River City Super Sports Challenge ~All Stars Battle~. All titles will be available incrementally throughout the year, with River City Super Sports Challenge being available later on in December, Chrono Phantasma Extend being released in Feburary 2016, Melty Blood in Spring 2016 and Under Night In-Birth in Summer 2016.

This has been continuing Arc Systems movement to port their bigger name recent titles, if a little delayed, to PC.  With Arcana Heart 3: LOVE MAX!!!! and Blazblue Continuum Shift Extend having come out this year. Although, from what we've seen of the port jobs by Arc System Works, weren't exactly ideal.

Arc System Works also released the system requirements for Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN-. The recommended specs include at least a 2.0ghz I5 CPU, 2GB RAM, Raedon HD 7770/GeForce 560 and  10 GB Storage space available.

Quick Take

I am incredibly excited to see Arc System bringing these games to the PC. To see the PC getting more recognition by fighting game developers, especially the more Japanese centric ones. Having played Under Night: In Birth, Chrono Phantasma and Xrd -SIGN-, I can say that the PC is receiving some top quality fighters over the next year. I just hope that Arc System works and the other developers responsible for these games ensure the PC ports improve drastically to make them a worthwhile purchase. In my review of Arcana Heart 3: LOVE MAX!!!!, I couldn't help by feel like the terrible PC options and Online component crippled an otherwise fantastic game.
