Lots of great games come out every day, and many of them are standing on the shoulders of giants. Planet Coaster wouldn't exist if Rollercoaster Tycoon didn't come before it, Two Point Hospital can rightly call Theme Hospital an ancestor, and any fan of twitch shooters owes something to the Unreal Tournament games. The GOG Noclip & Classic Gaming Sale provides the perfect opportunity for you to check out some of the titles that made gaming great. We picked out a few of our favorites to highlight!

Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura ($3.89, 35% off) is a classic RPG that is great for scratching that monster-slaying itch. Originally released in 2001, players venture into a steampunk world full of magic, dwarves, orcs, and elves alongside a boatload of choices to make. You can play out combat in turn-based battles or try your hand at fighting enemies in real time. Will you pick the path of magic or the path of technology? Find out for yourself in Arcanum!

Quest For Glory might be a point & click adventure, but that doesn't mean you don't get to fight, too.

Quest For Glory 1-5 ($6.49, 35% off) is a collection of the all five games in the Quest For Glory series. These point and click adventures have you playing the role of a hero in a very troubled land, beginning with a mission to deal with a troublesome Ogress, bandits, and other assorted baddies. Create your character, pick their class, and carry them over to successive games with the character importing system. Travel around the world and be the hero that everyone hopes you can be!

The RollerCoaster Tycoon 2: Triple Thrill Pack ($3.39, 66% off) packs a theme park management game and two of its expansions into one convenient download. Open up a park, manage your guest's needs, and hope to goodness that a coaster doesn't go flying off of the tracks and into the bumper cars. You'll have a variety of different challenges to work with including building parks for scratch or trying to salvage existing parks with a heck of a lot of problems plaguing them.

SWAT 4: Gold Edition ($4.99, 50% off) is a good game if you're in more of a shooty mood. This tactical shooter has you commanding a team of highly-trained SWAT officers as you try to defuse dangerous situations with minimal loss of life. Something somewhat unique to this series is the need to follow police procedure to get a good score; going in with guns blazing might stop the bad guys but it certainly won't help your career! If you've always wanted to play a police officer, you can also look into picking up SWAT 3: Tactical Game of the Year Edition ($6.49, 35% off) for a slightly older (but still quite good) shooter experience. The earlier games in the series Police Quest: SWAT 1+2 ($7.49, 25% off) are also available, though bear in mind that they are a more strategic kind of game with an isometric camera.unreal tournament screens

The Unreal games bring a bit of twitch shooter action to the GOG Noclip & Classic Gaming Sale. The final item we'll be highlighting for the GOG Noclip & Classic Gaming Sale is Unreal Gold ($1.99, 80% off), a fantastic twitch shooter with all sorts of lovely spacegats. Blow apart your enemies with mundane weapons like pistols or more advanced technology up to and including a tactical nuke launcher called the Redeemer. Head back to a magical era where players moved fast and exploded into a million giblets when they were horribly maimed with alien weaponry. You can also grab Unreal Tournament GOTY ($1.99, 80% off), Unreal 2: The Awakening Special Edition ($1.99, 80% off), and Unreal Tournament 2004 Editor's Choice Edition ($1.99, 80% off) if you want to round out your collection.

We've touched upon just a few of the great games you can find in the GOG Noclip & Classic Gaming Sale. There's a lot of neat stuff in there, many of which are considered favorites by longtime gamers. Head on over to GOG.com to check out everything on offer for yourself - you have around a week to get your hands on a bunch of fun titles at fantastic discounts!
