Gramophone Games have announced Going Medieval, an upcoming game that explores an alternate history where the Black Death really messed up humankind according to a press release. A heck of a lot more people died, so it will be up to you to do your best to rebuild civilization while fending off wildlife, bandits, and internal strife!
In Going Medieval, players will start with a simple wooden hut and a handful of people. From there, they'll have to gather materials, expand their industry, and turn a tiny hovel into a bustling fortress town! It won't be easy, though — there are going to be all sorts of nasty things out in the world that will happily gobble up your citizenry.
Not only is the world itself dangerous — but you'll also have to deal with the people themselves. Each of your villagers has their own "needs, feelings, and agendas", and mismanaging this critical aspect of your society could easily lead to disaster.
Gramophone Games' latest title will be making its way to Steam Early Access to start. Like many similar projects, the developers want to get input from a wide range of people in order to test our new features and make the game as robust as possible. The devs say that Going Medieval draws inspiration from titles like Stronghold and Rimworld — so if you enjoy either of those games, you're probably going to find something to like in this one.
