Privet i dobro pozhalovat to another GOG sale! This week, the GOG Priviet Sale is cutting up to 90% off games from Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus. There are some serious classics in here, as well as some lesser-known gems. Let’s take a look.
First off, it’s CRPG Pathfinder: Kingmaker – Explorer Edition. This project boasts the involvement of legendary designer Chris Avellone and composer Inon Zur. Pathfinder: Kingmaker is the first isometric CRPG set in the Pathfinder universe and is based on the Kingmaker adventure path. Players will explore the contested Stolen Lands and build their own kingdom, fielding the myriad challenges that task brings with it. You can enjoy 25% off Pathfinder: Kingmaker – Explorer Edition during the Priviet Sale and you can read more about it in our impressions.
Shooter fans might find a little more solace in the open-ended stylings of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl, which is up for grabs in the GOG Priviet Sale at 70% off. You’ll venture into the Chernobyl exclusion zone in search of resources, artifacts, and the truth about the exclusion zone’s many mysteries. Shadow of Chernobyl is an organic and compelling shooter that still feels unique to this day. If you like it, you can also grab prequel S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky and sequel S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat for 70% off each.
Still, haven’t quite had your fill of gloomy Russian shooter action? Why not check out 4A Games’ Metro series? These games are set in the Russian underground after a catalysmic event renders the surface unliveable. Hero Artyom must journey through a colorful parade of the best and worst humanity has to offer, all the while blasting countless mutants and other, more eldritch entities. Metro 2033 Redux and Metro: Last Light Redux are both up for grabs in the GOG Priviet Sale at 75% off and we thoroughly enjoyed both games. Check ’em out if you don’t mind a little gloom with your boom.
Maybe you’re after something a tad more quirky. If so, there’s plenty in the GOG Priviet Sale to interest you. Dark management sim Graveyard Keeper is 25% cheaper than usual. Beholder offers players the chance to spy on their neighbors for 80% off (its sequel is also up for grabs, and is 25% off). You can also grab influential Russian gaming diamonds like Rage of Mages (75% off), King’s Bounty: Crossworlds (74% off) (especially good if you’re a fan of classic Heroes of Might and Magic), and Space Rangers HD (75% off), among others. This week is a great time to be a fan of Russian gaming.
As part of the Priviet Sale, GOG is also proud to bring back a forgotten classic to its store. Hard Truck 2 is an influential trucking sim that is widely considered the precursor of modern truck simulations, and rightly so. GOG is bringing this classic to players at 10% off during its release window, so make sure you check that out if trucking is your bag. Space sim classic Parkan 2 is also now available via GOG with a release discount of 50%.
