Bandai Namco has officially announced God Eater 3 for Asia, Europe, and the Americas, with no further information on a release date. The announcement trailer comes on the heels of months of teasers and a drip-feed of information, but teasers posted last week fully realize those teasers. The press release has little information on release platforms, but it does suggest towards major changes in the God Eater series. PreviouslyGod Eater producer Yusuke Tomizawa indicated that he wanted the next God Eater game to be released simultaneously worldwide. On top of that, an interview in the latest issue of Famitsu and translated by Siliconera reveals more details about God Eater 3. Some details of note include: God Eater 3 is being developed primarily for consoles; certain dangerous enemies will devour the players; and God Eater 3 takes place chronologically after God Eater 2: Rage Burst.

The interview also indicates that Bandai Namco is looking to build off of God Eater 2: Rage Burst's gameplay. While the previous title may have been about tactical monster slaying, God Eater 3 will focus more on quick kills and nonstop action. The gameplay shown off in the trailer above is brief, but still shows off quite a variety of angry, sharp-toothed beasts.

The full blurb in the press release is as follows:

Earth no longer resembles the home we know of now. The Aragami, terrifying beasts that live only to consume, are carving a path of destruction and misery wherever they are encountered. To combat this threat an elite group of heroes known as God Eaters are called upon to save humanity. God Eaters are individuals who have been bestowed upon them the ability to wield powerful new God Arcs, special weapons powered by Oracle Cells and the only known weapons capable of destroying the monstrous Aragami. However, another mission is coming into focus; something is happening to the God Eaters and the line between light and dark has never been so thin. It's time to start breaking free from the cursed shackles that bind the souls of the God Eaters as the battle rages on around them.
With little information on a release window at this time, it may well be some time before we explore the ruins of Fenrir Headquarters in God Eater 3.
