SMITE Reaping

Looks like even divinities can feel fear. Even more when Thanatos is involved. The god of Death will take the lead of this year's halloween in SMITE with a weekend-long event called The Reaping: Part One.

In this event, you'll be able of both trying the gods you wanted and gather some gems at the same time. From the 23rd to the 25th of October, in fact, all the gods will be available to pick. It does not end here. If you manage to get a first win of the day in 5 of the 6 game modes in SMITE, you'll receive 100 gems for a grand total of 300 over the course of the weekend.

In the usual Hi-Rez style, the fine print in the above image hides a couple of surprises. The first one is that there will be a Reaping: Part Two in the near future. The second one is that Hi-Rez disguised a giveaway hiding two in-game codes in the small text. At the moment of writing the codes have already been claimed but it's a pretty cool move nonetheless.

What would be a SMITE event without discounted skins? From Friday to Sunday the following skins will be priced 50% off:

• Dark Lord Sun Wukong
• G.I. Zhong
• High Seas Sobek
• Elite Agent Apollo
• Dreadbeard Poseidon
• Swagni Agni
• Renegade Awilix
• Covert Ops Bastet
• Cyberpunk Ne Zha
• Olympian Anhur
• Scarlet Coven Isis
• Ms. Diagnosis Neith
• Madame Blade Serqet
• Afro-Dite Aphrodite
• Wrangler Artemis
• Blind Vengeance Nemesis
• Daisy Despair Scylla
• Gamma Slam Cabrakan
• Space Monkey Hun Batz
• Shaolin Monk-ey Hun Batz
• Shinobalanque Xbalanque
• Infiltrator Loki
• Heavy Metal Thor
• Privatyr Tyr
• The Survivor Ullr
• Lil’Devil Cupid
• Grand Slam Hercules
• Master Guan Fu Guan Yu

Pretty surprised of not seeing a Thanatos skin among those considering he’ll be the front man of the event. I guess we can only wait the weekend to see what’s the deal with him.
SMITE players are having a pretty interesting week, considering that two days ago the game received a mini-patch fixing a few issues and, more importantly, adding to the game the long waited and Monty Python inspired skin “King Ar-Tyr” for Tyr as well as the iDusa skin for Medusa.

The event will be available for both PC and Xbox One versions of the game.
