Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord has been under development for quite some time now, with the first announcement trailer being released all the way back in 2012, and the first gameplay trailer releasing at this year's E3 where we covered it.
Now that development of Bannerlord has progressed to the point where TaleWorlds is finally comfortable with showing it off to the world, those who have been patiently waiting for more gameplay can watch it just below, with this video showing a siege from a defender's viewpoint.

In the video, the viewer watches the player defend their keep at the large horde of encroaching enemies. The viewer watches the player arrange the disposition of their troops before the battle, shoot arrows, dump rocks on foes at the gate, lead troops to the front gate, and eventually win the battle.
As a brief side note, in medieval warfare, the general rule was to have at least double the amount of attackers compared to the defenders when attacking a fortified base such as a keep or castle. On Reddit, a member of the TaleWorlds staff stated that the amount of attackers versus defenders was 'around' 310 to 180, which is more but not double.
While TaleWorlds released a gameplay video for Bannerlord today, they also released a press release that explains on how the expanded upon their diplomacy from their previous titles.
Essentially, TaleWorlds stated that they have 'implemented' new ways to conduct diplomacy, "both personal and of the state." Players can hold a parley "from the ramparts of your castle" and end sieges with words instead of bloodshed, or somehow "use their standing" to hide behind their king and unleash him on the players' rivals. To do this, accumulated Influence can be used to broker peace by "offering up your land, goods, or gold.
Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord is expected to release sometime in 2017.
