Thanksgiving isn’t even past and Major Nelson has dropped the next allotment of Games with Gold titles on us. Announced today via his blog Major Nelson has revealed that gamers will also be getting an extra gift for the holiday season in the form of a fifth game. The way that Games with Gold works is that every month Xbox Live Gold subscribers have four games available to download for free. Two of them are Xbox One titles and the other two are Xbox 360, as stated above though this month there will be a third Xbox 360 game.

Games with Gold December One 2015

The first of the Xbox One titles that will be available is The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing. This game is an action RPG developed by NeocoreGames and is based upon Bram Stoker’s “Dracula.” You and your friends will be able to enter the weird world of Dracula and take on waves of monsters and magic. As you play you can level your character and special abilities to tailor your character to your play style. This game will be available for all of December.

From the 16th of December until the 15th of January Thief will be available to download for free on Xbox One. Thief was released in 2014 and is the fourth game in the series of the same name. Playing as the Master Thief Garrett you must use your thieving skills to uncover the dark truth about your city. You progress through the world in the shadows trying to find the best path to your objective while leveling skills.

Games with Gold December 360 2015

For the Xbox 360 starting on the 1st of December up until the 16th you will be able to download Castle Storm for free. Castle Storm is an interesting game that has you waging the war of Knights vs. Vikings as you traverse the 2D planes to take on your foes. As well as a full story mode there is also a castle editor, multiplayer, co-op and more. Get your fill of building up and destroying castles.

After Castle Storm goes back to full price then Sacred 3 will be free until the end of the month. Sacred 3 allows players to team up with up to 3 of their friends and fight against the Ancaria. In this hack and slash game you will face all kinds of enemies from brutal beasts to necromancers. After leveling your characters you will be able to utilize all manners of powerful co-op abilities to take on your foes.

As an additional game for the holiday from the 16th of December until the end of the month Xbox Gold subscribers will also get Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising. This tactical shooter is an unofficial sequel to Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis after Bohemia Interactive and Codemasters had a falling out. Dragon Rising will challenge you to complete mission after mission in both a single and multiplayer campaign on a large battlefield.

All of the games for Xbox 360 will also be available to download onto your Xbox One as a part of Backwards Compatibility so if you don’t want to dust off your 360 you can still play these three games.

What do you think of the final GWG for the year? Are there any games on the list you’re looking forward to playing? What game are you still holding out to see come to GWG?

I have been playing all kinds of games for as long as I can remember with a particular interest in action adventure and platforming titles. While I am primarily an Xbox gamer I also spend a fair bit of time on the PS4 and on my PC in VR.
