Gamer Network, owners of Eurogamer, has just launched "Gamer's Edition." A crowdfunded effort to bring players physical collector's editions of some indie favorites.

The two editions that have been announced so far are a Papers, Please release and a Hotline Miami 1 & 2 double pack. Both of these editions will be available as one-off pre-orders to be made via a crowdfunding system. Production is not set to begin until a minimum have been sold; once initial manufacturing costs are made, orders will start to be produced.

Gamer's Edition chief John Hicks had this to say about these special editions:

Gamer's Edition was set up to create awesome collector's editions for games that previously couldn't deliver them.

We realized that digitally-distributed indie games were taking up almost as much of our gaming time as the megabucks triple-A stuff, but they didn't have much in the way of cooler toys or accessories because the developers don't have the time or the resources to create them.

By partnering with Idea Planet, we've been able to deliver the quality of blockbuster collectibles for our favorite indie games, and by making them to order we ensure that we only create things that the community really wants. Our goal is to work with both developers and players to come up with high-quality special editions that are as unique as the games themselves."

The Papers, Please edition will cost $70 and will come with a Steam key, an inkpad, stamps, poster, passport, immigration rule book, paperwork set, labor lottery keyring, inspector's pin badge and a case to hold them in.

The Hotline Miami set will cost $60 and will include Steam keys, a hardcopy of each game on DVD, a C90 soundtrack mixtape, a comic, cameo trading cards, 50 blessing spray paint stencil and a custom art card.

If either of these sound interesting, go check them out over on the Gamer's Edition website. If these do well, there may be more collector's editions produced in the future!

What do you think of these collector's editions? Will you be purchasing either of them?
