GamePump's First Title Is Likely To Be LIT

The first title that will most likely be published through GamePump's subscription service is LIT, a "horror puzzler" that was originally released for the Wii's WiiWare platform in 2009.

The information originates from this Reddit thread, which states that with the title starting with the letter "L", the developer being WayForward, and the genre being a puzzler, there is only one game that fits all the requirements.

At its release, LIT received an average score of 74, indicating 'mixed or average reviews'. The main criticisms were targeted toward the motion controls and some inconsistencies relating to the puzzles themselves. However, the game's atmosphere and its generally creative puzzles were aspects of the game that were praised, which seemed to be enough encouragement for GamePump to re-release the title.

The interesting thing about this situation is that LIT has two different versions: the WiiWare title that was released in 2009, and an Android and IOS 2d re-imagining that was released in 2015. Right now, it is unclear which of the two will be re-released, but regardless it will be made clear this Friday assuming it is LIT

GamePump is a non-reoccurring subscription service, separated into three tiers of 1 month, 3 months, and 12 months for $5, $15, and $20 respectively. GamePump's main promise is that each title is a game that previously never found its way to the PC platform. On the first Friday of each month, a new title will be released, which means that LIT is set to come out this Friday. Another thing to note is that the 12-month subscription will receive an additional game for a total of 13 games this year.

Interestingly, GamePump won't only publish previously released games - some games will be developed for the service, "... as spiritual successors to your favorite game franchises of the past." GamePump will allow users to receive a DRM-free key or a Steam key for each game that is published through its platform. As well as being available through GamePump's subscription, LIT will also be available for purchase on Steam after it's initial release.

It's also important to note that each game will be released and 'optimized' for PC, with 'some' games supporting Mac and Linux.
