The trailer for Metal Gear Online showed off the breathtaking graphics of the new Fox Engine as a soldier changes his appearance before settling on Big Boss appearance. An infiltration of what seems to be a 6 man team infiltrating a base in the desert. One of the big parts of the multiplayer is flanking movements that can distract an opponent in one direction while your team members sneak up behind them. You are able to hijack and pilot mechs with automated turrets and even use them to kick away any opposing forces. The final scene in the trailer shows Snake taking a selfie with Revolver Ocelot.

The player character is following a mysterious man when he is attacked from the side. A flamethrower is shown off in the next scene before a quick transition to a man repeatedly hitting something on the ground with his weapon. He alludes to the player character becoming a beast eventually, this may mean that everyone in this world eventually succumbs to some kind of ailment and becomes one of the haunting figures that appear.

The idea of a persistant environment where apples may be growing in trees or not was mentioned as well. While riding horses you don’t need to change direction to avoid obstacles such as trees or rocks and you can even vault off your horse and fire arrows in slow motion. This game will be released in 2015 and when Miyamoro was asked about Star Fox he replied saying that Star Fox for Wii U will be out before The Legend of Zelda and before that Majora’s Mask 3DS will be released.

That’s all that there is for the Game Awards reveals, were there any in particular that you are looking forward to? or is there something you wish that they had showed off instead?

I have been playing all kinds of games for as long as I can remember with a particular interest in action adventure and platforming titles. While I am primarily an Xbox gamer I also spend a fair bit of time on the PS4 and on my PC in VR.
