DICE has confirmed that all future DLC for Battlefield 4 will be free of charge according to BF4 Central.

DICE's David Sirland has confirmed that both premium and non-premium players will have access to free content in the future, which includes new multiplayer maps and the previously announced Gun master game mode. This includes five new weapons for the game, and the return of the popular Gun Master mode from Battlefield 3.

Gun Master mode is a mode inspired by the "Gun Game" mod from Counter Strike, where players must earn a certain number of kills with specific weapons. To win the mode, the player must be the first person to earn, and use, the knife on another player. Gun Master mode will be a free update to Battlefield 4, and is planned to be implemented with the Spring patch.

In addition to this, DICE is also working on a new map update for Battlefield 4. Titled Night Maps, DICE will add several night versions of some of Battlefield 4's most popular multiplayer levels, such as the Golmund Railway and the Siege of Shanghai. These maps were previewed back in March.

In addition, DICE is planning to release a brand new community map this Summer, which has recently entered development, and a remake of an original Battlefield map.

The number of maps and game modes are just the most recent updates for Battlefield 4, which was released back in 2013. DICE has continuously updated the title with both paid and free content since release. The last, paid piece of DLC, titled Final Stand, was released in December 2014.

Battlefield 4 has been commercially successful, with over 7 million copies sold worldwide, making it the second biggest first person shooter of 2013 behind Call of Duty: Ghosts.

So what do you think? Is the continued support of Battlefield 4 a good thing? Are you glad it's all free? Leave your comments below.
