Originally planned for 2017, Frostpunk was delayed to early this year, hopefully sometime in the first three months. 11-bit studios missed the mark, but not by much. The city management/city survival game will be releasing April 24th on PC. Accompanying the release date is a new cinematic trailer, which you can view below.

In Frostpunk, you take on the role of a city ruler/leader whose job is to keep his/her citizens alive. An alternate history 19th-century world has frozen over—a mystery you can seek out answers for—and resources, including labor, are scarce. Frostpunk quickly becomes a balancing act between the people you will govern and the resources they need for survival.
With the many complex systems, it takes to make a satisfying city builder, 11-bit studios has upped the ante by putting your moral quandaries right in your face. Not enough adults around to do the labor you need? Maybe you'll have to put the kids to work. Unlike other city management games, the moral choices you make come as a constant feedback through citizen comments and depressing imagery that can come as a result of your consequences.
Frostpunk differs more from other city builders in that survival of your people is key. Every choice you make is for the continued prosperity of the people you're responsible for keeping safe in a world determined to kill them. How you go about accomplishing that is still up to you, but the goal is still the same: survive.
We had the chance to talk with Frostpunk's Lead Designer at E3 last year about what Frostpunk is exactly and how the choices you make will affect things in the game.
