Forza Horizon 2

Attention all racers, start your engines and crank up the radio! A sequel to the 2012 game Forza Horizon has just been announced by Playground Games for Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

Playground Games will be working collaboratively with Turn 10 Studios, creators of the Forza franchise, for the Xbox One version of the game. Sumo Digital, whose past titles include Xbox Fitness and Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing, will be working on the Xbox 360 version. As with the first game it will be set in an open world but instead of taking place at the fictional Horizon Festival in Colorado, Forza Horizon 2 will instead take place in southern Europe.

According to the editor at IGN who broke this news Forza Horizon 2 will keep its musical theme, with the story revolving around a musical festival much like in the first game. Forza Horizon 2 will be the franchises second outing to the Xbox One following Forza Motorsport 5 and will be built using the same engine, sadly the Xbox 360 version of the game will be unable to utilize this next-gen engine and will instead be using the original Forza Horizon engine. No release date for this game has been announced yet but it had a window of Q4 2014.
