From work on The Witcher where they served as the Lead Narrative Designer and Project lead, Artur Ganszyniec and Jacek Brzeziński have come together again to form Different Tales, a storytelling studio exploring what they call slow gaming, stories rooted in human experience that you can discover at your own pace. Their debut title is Wanderlust: Travel Stories and it is releasing on August 28.
In Wanderlust: Travel Stories you experience a narrative based interactive travelogue, inspired by real-world travel stories. You plan out your trips and go around the world and see all sorts of locations, with beautiful photography taken by the developers. It owes a lot to games like 80 Days in its presentation and method of storytelling, with them promising 12+ hours of playtime and over 300 000 words, which they state is made up of 4 novels and 5 short stories as they aim for a mix of literary and gaming experiences.
Arture Ganszyniec is a co-founder of Different Tales and previously was the lead narrative designer on The Witcher. He shared a bit about why they decided to make Wanderlust: Travel Stories:
"Ten years after I met with Jacek during our work on The Witcher, we decided to team up again to make a different kind of a story, something more grounded in reality and rooted in the common human experience."Wanderlust: Travel Stories is set to release on August 28th for $19.99 on PC and Mac via Steam, and will also be available on the iOS App Store. If you're not sure it's something you'd be interested in, take a look at the trailer below!"Wanderlust was born from Jacek's love for travel and from my love for storytelling. We aimed to create something different. A bridge between literary experiences and gaming. A title that is meant to be taken in, experienced and felt."
