So the most useless release date announcement of all has been announced. Noted release date ignorer Scott Cawthon has announced that his release date of his RPG game featuring the Five Nights at Freddy's cast, Five Nights at Freddy's World, will be coming out February 19th on PC, with releases to follow on Android and iPhone.

While originally anticipated for a Halloween, Five Nights at Freddy's World became the first title that Scott delayed, pushing it into the new year. Previously, his titles have had a tendency to have an announced release date and then suddenly jump out of nowhere because 'they were finished', with that most recently happening with Five Nights at Freddy's 4 having that happen. Beyond the game scope increase, real life events have recently conspired to delay the game with his old computer, which he used to create Five Nights at Freddy's 1-4 in 2014-2015 died and required purchasing a new machine. While all his content was backed up that obviously delayed things with having to set it up.

In related delay news, Scott announced a new addition to the Cawthon family today, a new baby boy. Today's update was in fact typed from the hospital and we all wish him and his family the best with their new addition to the family.

Quick Take

We'll  see if he really means it on that date. At this point uhh... well I'm watching all the doors to see if a release jumps at me given the last year from Scott on that. Maybe the baby will help there!

There's still not a ton of information on FNaF World beyond it being an alternate reality type thing, an rpg and featuring the fuzzy little scare makers you know and love hate. A January 1 update mentioned adding power-ups, shops, multiple ways to beat the game, and secret bosses which sounds like it will have a solid feature set potentially. Scott has also repeated again this will be the last game in the franchise.

And as I said above, congratulations to the Cawthon family, and all the best from us here at TechRaptor.

What are your expectations for Five Nights at Freddy's World? Are you sad its the final game in the franchise, or do you think there will be others despite what is being said? What would you like to see Scott work on next? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
