The air is thick with the promise of new information on announced games, as well as new info on leaks, in the lead up to the Electronic Entertainment Expo on June 13 in Los Angeles. While the trade show is still a big player in the games industry, more and more developers have chosen to either hold their own event during the E3 period, either off or online. One of these events is EA Play, Electronic Arts’ own event you can both attend if you’re in the area, or stream from the comfort of your own home.

Since the game’s reveal a short while ago, fans have been looking forward to catching a glimpse of Star Wars Battlefront II in action. The wait is almost over now because Electronic Arts are hosting a stream during their EA Play event.

At EA Play, you’ll be able to watch the first-ever live gameplay reveal of Star WarsBattlefront II, featuring livestream of 40-player gameplay set during the Assault on Theed – one of the new multiplayer battles from the prequel trilogy. Clone Troopers will mount a desperate defense against the invading forces of the Separatist Battle Droids. Can the Republic forces stop the relentless crawl of the massive Multi-Troop Transport as it lumbers toward the palace doors?

Theed is the capital city of the planet Naboo, which was a major focus of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace. Before the official opening of the EA Play event, 40 players (made up of popular streamers and YouTubers) will split themselves into two teams of 20 for a match on the Theed map. One team is led by StoneMountain64, the other by Neebs Gaming. Other known names include the likes of Jackfrags and Darkness429.

You can also enter a contest to win a ticket for EA Play, travel included.

Jump on Twitter and tell @EAStarWars why you love to play Star Wars games and you might win a chance to fly out to EA PLAY and join the Assault on Theed Livestream. Make sure to include the #EAStarWarsSweepstakes #AssaultonTheed hashtag in your tweet. Seriously. See the official rules below.

The rest of us will be able to watch the stream right on Twitch on June 10 at 12:30 PM PT.

I've been playing games since I was just barely able to walk, and I never really stopped playing them. When I'm not fulfilling my duties as senior staff writer and tech reviewer, I'm either working on music, producing one of two podcasts or doing freelance work.
