Rice Digital, based in Bristol, UK, has announced, along with event organizers NGI, that the religious fighter, Fight of Gods, will be part of the lineup for the anime-centric fighting game event, Revolution 2017 in London on the weekend of October 6-8.

Fight of Gods takes a lighthearted and humorous approach to religion by using religious deities and icons for members of its roster. Due to this tongue-in-cheek nature of the game, it very recently saw some controversy by causing access to Steam to be temporarily banned in Malaysia. Steam later became unbanned, but not before de-listing Fight of Gods from sale first in Malaysia. Luckily, it's still up for purchase everywhere else, so you won't be able to miss your opportunity to practice those holy combos for the upcoming tournament.

As with most fighting game tournaments, Fight of Gods will follow a specific format at Revolution 2017. The bracket will be double elimination, and two-out-of-three games will be played from pools until top 8, where three-out-of-five games will be played for winners, losers, and grand finals. For more info on the event, including registration, location, time, entry fees, schedule, and prize pool distribution, visit NGI's event information page here. Fight of Gods will be joining the likes of Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2, BlazBlue: Central Fiction, Tekken 7, Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, Arcana Heart 3: Love Max, Gundam Versus, Skullgirls: 2nd Encore, The King of Fighters XIV, and Pokken Tournament to make up the event's lineup. Revolution 2017 will also be part of the Arc Revolution Cup tour, allowing the winners of the Guilty Gear and BlazBlue tournaments to represent Europe at Arc Revolution Cup 2017 in late October.

The game definitely brings the broken, janky fun and blasphemous comedy, but can it bring the hype that's expected in a competitive setting? We'll find out in less than a month!
