A recent Active Time Report held by Square Enix in Tokyo debuted new information about updates and DLC coming to Final Fantasy XV. The live stream lasted about an hour and the game’s director Hajime Tabata announced an upcoming patch and showed off a new trailer that outlined DLC  coming to the game. You can view the latest trailer, similar to what was shown at the 30th Anniversary Celebration, below.

The 30th Anniversary Celebration announced a big update coming February 21st. That new patch will bring the highly anticipated 1080p/60 FPS maximum for the PS4 Pro. This means that the frame rate will reach 60 FPS but won’t be expected to stay at that rate continuously. Tabata apologized to players during the live stream that this patch wasn’t delivered as soon as expected.

In addition to the smoother frame rate for PS4 Pro, more improvements are coming with the update on Feb. 21st. The level cap will now be raised up to 120 and players will be able to save an additional 50 pictures - expanding photo albums up to 200 photos from the previous 150.  In Final Fantasy XV, it will also be possible to listen to selected music while riding chocobos, not just cruising in the Regalia, starting the 21st.

The patch will also be adding limited-time quests to the game. These limited-time quests will be available for a fixed amount of time and will include mob hunts. Future limited-time quests will include other activities such as fishing.

During the 30th Anniversary Celebration, a Booster Pack full of interesting goodies was announced. Now more details about the items have been revealed. The Booster Pack+ (with Season Pass) will include the Booster Sword weapon and special fishing gear, the Dragonmod fishing rod and Aviol reel, available on the 21st. The free Booster Pack will be released at a later date and will include the Magitek Exosuits.

On the 28th of March the big Chapter 13 update should be ready to launch alongside the Gladiolus DLC. No new details about the Chapter 13 changes were discussed however, an official release date has been announced. Director Tabata also showcased a demo of the Regalia off-roading during the broadcast. The video shows the car being able to drive where it pleases, regardless of the presence of a road or not, although terrain can pose an obstacle. While this may mean that Regalia off-road content may become a more permanent feature of the game as for now it's just an in-progress demo. On another note, the Final Fantasy XV Platinum Demo will be discontinued after March 31st, so play it while you can.

A new trailer that was shown during the broadcast teased some upcoming DLC. In the trailer, we see the Moogle Chocobo Carnival from update 1.04 and the first animated footage of the Gladiolus and Prompto themed content. Gladiolus DLC will be available on March 28th and will include a lot of combat. Prompto DLC can be expected in June of this year and will be a more story-driven exploration of the character.
