On Sept. 28, publisher XSEED Games announced that the upcoming brawler Fate/EXTELLA LINK is set to launch in Q1 2019, and PlayStation 4 owners will have the option to buy a newly revealed special edition. Titled the Fleeting Glory Edition, the package comes with a physical copy of the game, a soundtrack CD, 10 collectible 3-by-5-inch cards featuring new Servants, a 17-by-24-inch cloth poster, and a 3-by-4.5-inch acrylic diorama depicting three Servants.

Fate/EXTELLA LINK is the direct sequel to Fate/EXTELLA: The Umbral Star, which released in the West in 2017. Set in the popular Fate universe, the upcoming beat em' up looks to build upon its predecessor. The 2019 release will add 10 new Servants to the original 16, including Astolfo, Scáthach, and Francis Drake. These 10 are the same ones featured on the collectible cards of the Fleeting Glory Edition. Similar to Umbral StarLINK has players battle hundreds of foot soldiers, as per the musou genre popularized by Koei Tecmo's Dynasty Warrior series and various other Warrior games.

The special edition will only be available for PS4, despite also having a digital release on the PS Vita. PS4 players will also be able to participate in 4-on-4 online battles in Fate EXTELLA/LINK. No online mode has been announced yet for the Vita edition.

In our review of Umbral Star, we found the music forgettable and some art assets to be out of place. But overall, "Extella is excellent both as a Fate/ series game and a Warriors style beat em’ up and should appease fans of both until an entry in either comes out in the future."

Both physical and digital versions of the EXTELLA LINK PS4 release will cost $50. The Fleeting Glory Edition will run for $80. The Vita digital edition will set you back $40. Expect the game to release sometime in the first quarter of 2019.
