The artistic, vehicle-based adventure game FAR: Lone Sails is making its way to home consoles this April. The game saw a pretty successful run on PC since its release in May of last year and so the developers are bringing the game to the home console market, with proper adventure game controller support. The eerie adventure experience has won numerous awards and is sure to make a splash when it hits console marketplaces.
Far: Lone Sails puts you in control of a strange creature, the pilot of an odd hybrid of train and boat. As you make your way across a desolate landscape you must content with roadblocks, vehicle malfunctions, and the crushing loneliness of traveling an empty landscape. On your journey, you will be plagued with questions, doubts and the need to continue your journey. You'll be presented with opportunities to find and upgrade components for your vehicle as well as solving puzzles in the environment to ensure you can continue on your way.
The game started life as a university project by the developer Don Schmocker for his bachelor thesis and has been on quite a journey of its own. From a university project to full-blown indie masterpiece Fall: Lone Sails is an experience unlike any other. A game more about the journey and being on your way than who you are or where you are trying to get to. A true adventure game in the classical sense of the genre.
Far: Lone Sails is heading to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 April 4th, 2019 and you can check out the brand new release trailer right now. You can pre-order the game starting from March 19th onwards.
