Fallout 76: Nuclear Winter Pre-Beta Period Extended

According to a post in the Fallout 76 community blog, Bethesda Game Studios has decided to extend the pre-beta sneak peek period of their upcoming expansion Nuclear Winter, which will continue to receive updates so players and fans can keep sharing their feedback. Nuclear Winter is Fallout 76's battle royale mode, announced during the Bethesda conference at E3 2019 recently, along with the 2019 roadmap and the Wastelanders Update. Fans of the online game will probably have ample opportunity to influence its direction with feedback during the pre-beta period.

Nuclear Mode pits you against your fellow players in a battle of every man and woman for themselves for the role of Overseer of Vault 51. In it, 52 players fight to the death for the exclusive right to oversee the Vault, though you have to wonder what will be left to oversee. One of Vault-Tec's experimental mysteries, it seems. Either way, players can rank up, unlock new and exclusive perks, deploy a C.A.M.P. and even launch nukes. It's all about the last person standing, as battle royale modes go.

You can either start with a new character, or you can bring a chosen character from Adventure or Survival Mode into Nuclear Winter. Your character’s physical appearance will carry over from those modes, but not your weapons or Perk cards. You’ll be dropped into Nuclear Winter wearing only a Vault 51 jumpsuit with your trusty Pip-Boy 2000 on your wrist, unless you’ve managed unlocked some outfits, which can be equipped from the start in the staging area. All your base game S.P.E.C.I.A.L. stats will be brought into Nuclear Winter, but, again, you won’t have any of your Perk cards. Those will unlock as you play through the new mode. You also won’t have any of your S.P.E.C.I.A.L. passive bonuses, as those would provide some players with an unfair advantage.

So if you were looking to enjoy the pre-beta period some more, or if you didn't get a chance to try it out, you can still get the game from Bethesda directly on PC, or for Xbox and PlayStation.
