Evo Evolution Championship Series 2017

The Evolution Championship Series of 2017 is less than a week away, and the brackets have been locked in place. Just as every year, the world’s largest competitive fighting game event draws in every worthwhile name under the sun. With over 6800 entrants spread across nine games, there’s bound to be quite a few top players among them. Here is a list of big names who have entered Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2BlazBlue: Central Fiction, and Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3. If any were accidentally left out, feel free to list them in the comments. If you’d like to scour Evo 2017’s full attendee list on your own, check out the Smash.gg page here.

The codes at the beginning of each line are the player’s designated pool, which you can look up on Smash.gg if you wish to see the bracket. Also, player sponsors/teams are also included in the listings, hence the “[sponsor/team] | [player name]” format.

The Guilty Gear Xrd line of anime fighting games returns to Evo for the third consecutive year in its third, and possibly final, iteration. BlazBlue returns to the Evo lineup for the first time since 2014, and unfortunately, it didn't make a huge impact. Like Guilty Gear, high level BlazBlue is capable of delivering on tense moments fit for any Evo highlight reel.
