Bethesda announced earlier today that survival horror game The Evil Within has a release date slated for August 26 in North America and August 29th in Europe. The anticipated horror game directed by resident evil creator Shinji Mikami follows detective Sebastian Castellanos as he and fellow officers investigate a mass murder scene.
While on the investigation the detective is witness to the slaying of his colleagues and shortly thereafter he gets ambushed and knocked unconscious. Castellanos wakes up only to find himself in a disturbed world where horrific creatures wander among the dead. Sebastian must fight his way through this unruly world to unravel the evil forces behind the terrifying realm that he now has to endure.
The Evil Within will offer highly crafted environments alongside an intricate story that will produce an immersive world which will bring you to the edge of your seat and induce tension. There will be limited resources available forcing players into survival mode.
The game which was announced last year is currently being developed by Tango Gameworks and will be arriving on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3, PS4, and PC.
