NIS America has announced Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold: The Fafnir Knight has a release date in Europe: February 12, 2016.
Fans of the series have been waiting for the game to be localized and now their hopes can be realized. Atlus U.S.A., Inc. will be publishing the game in North America and is set to release on August 4, 2015.
Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold: The Fafnir Knight is the seventh iteration in the RPG dungeon-crawler series. The game will be released both digitally and as a physical copy for 3DS. This release brings a whole new story-mode about the titular Fafnir knight and the Princess Arianna and their bittersweet tale.
Adventure through the Ginnungagap ruins and the Yggdrasil Labyrinth with the hero Flavio and the two mysterious adventurers, Bertrand and Chloe. This new story-mode for Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold: The Fafnir Knight is heavy on character interactions featuring a fixed party, voiced dialogue and animated cut-scenes.
In addition to a whole new story Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold is also an update to Etrian Odyssey 2: Heroes of Lagaard (released on Nintendo DS). The update includes new dungeon layouts, new graphics, and system improvements. Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold: The Fafnir Knight contains a new story-mode and an updated version of Etrian Odyssey 2: Heroes of Lagaard essentially making it 2 games in 1.
Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold will include normal, expert and super easy "picnic-mode" difficulty levels for players to choose from.
New features of the game include the new Fafnir character class and changes to the Grimoire stone system. The Fafnir class is playable in the story-mode and is a knight with the ability to transform into a beast, enhancing his attributes and abilities.
Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold: The Fafnir Knight will be released for 3DS in Europe on February 12, 2016. The game can currently be pre-ordered for $49.99 with extra goodies in North America. European pre-order info should be coming to the site soon.
