Some big names at Nintendo are getting brand new job titles within the company.

Eiji Aonuma, along with Hisashi Nogami, Aya Kyogoku and Yoshihito Ikebata are all receiving promotions within Nintendo, with all four of these individuals working with the company for over twenty years.

Aonuma is perhaps the most well known, being the director and later lead producer of the Legend of Zelda series since 1998, starting with Ocarina of Time. Fresh off of the success of Breath of the Wild while working on a sequel to the game, Aonuma is now given the job as Deputy General Manager for Nintendo for the companies Entertainment Planning & Development division (Nintendo EPD). Aonuma will not be leaving his position as the Zelda producer.

Aonuma will be sharing that position with his typical producer duties with Hisashi Nogami, who started as a character designer with Nintendo back in 1995. Today, Nogami is famous for being the director and producer of both the Animal Crossing franchise and Splatoon.

Aya Kyogoku has been a part of Nintendo since 2003, and is currently the director and co-producer of several Animal Crossing games including, New Leaf, Happy Home Designer, and the director of the upcoming Animal Crossing: New Horizons. She will be given the job of "Manager of Production Group No.5"; meaning she will be in charge of both the development teams for Animal Crossing and Splatoon.

Finally, Yoshihito Ikebata fulfilled the role of technical support and game supervisor for a ton of miscellaneous titles, from Pokemon Stadium 2 to most recently, Luigi's Mansion 3. A veteran of Nintendo since 1999, he will be promoted to the "Manager of Production Group No.6"; which is responsible for both Luigi's Mansion and the Metroid Prime series.

These promotions are well-earned by all four individuals, who have shown to be titans not only within Nintendo, but the gaming industry as a whole.
