Andrew Wilson comes back on stage to tout some the more charitable contributions by Electronic Arts.
This year's EA Play to Give would see $1 million donated to HeforShe, PACER's National Bullying Prevention Center, and Ditch the Label.
"All of you — our many millions of players out there — showed your support," stated the EA Play to Give news post. "You came out to play, as more than 5.7 million active players participated in the Play to Give in-game challenges from June 2-4. We were moved by your tremendous show of support."
Last year, EA donated $1 million to several different charities. Code.org, Code2040, Special Effect and the National Center for Women & Information Technology. All of the charities support causes of inclusivity, in particular woman in the tech industry with Code.org and NCWIT, something that has been important to Electronic Arts for the past few years now.
In addition to touting their own contributions and drive for more diversity within the gaming community, Wilson also gives back to their player base as a thank you gift for their support.
Starting today, Origin Access and EA Access are free for players to enjoy. Games such as FIFA, Madden, Star Wars Battlefront and others will be free to play all week. Players on the PS4 will also get gameplay demos for these games as well. It should be noted that an EA account is needed for most of the online content, so keep that in mind if you decide to sign up for these free trials.
All of this access is free for the next week until June 18th, starting right now. So those who wish to try a bunch of EA titles either online or through EA Access can check it out now.
