In a move that is likely no surprise to anyone, CD Projekt Red has announced that their award-winning RPG The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be getting enhanced for the Xbox One X and the PS4 Pro.

According to Eurogamer, CD Projekt Red has confirmed that the studio is working on a PS4 Pro and Xbox One Patch. No other details, however, have been given at this time. CD Projekt Red’s community lead Marcin Momot then confirmed the news on twitter.

The Witcher 3 was one of the games specifically highlighted during the Xbox E3 conference when it came to the Xbox One X , alongside other titles such as Dishonored 2, Mortal Kombat X, and Halo Wars 2.

It should be noted that CD Projekt Red stated last year that there would not be a patch update for the Witcher 3 for the PS4 Pro. In a statement told to Eurogamer, the reason given was for the team to focus on Gwent and Cyberpunk 2077.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has been critically acclaimed since its release in 2015, being heralded as one of the greatest video games of all time. The game has gone on to make over $250 million in revenue, while the entire Witcher series has earned over $25 million in sales worldwide.

Quick Take

It looks like CD Projekt Red has did a 180 on providing an enhancement to Witcher 3, which honestly is a good thing in the end. The game is still immensely popular, and it would be bad business not to give a little more support for the PS4 Pro and Xbox One.

Of course, there is no word as to when this patch will be ready. Hopefully shortly after the launch of the Xbox One X.
