During Sony's Pre-E3 conference, we got a glimpse at one of their new PlayLink titles, the chilling crime thriller Hidden Agenda.
The game is a co-op crime thriller that can have up to five friends playing at once. The game offers a cinematic title where choices matter and characters can die indiscriminately if you are not careful. The game centers around a Jigsaw-like serial killer named The Trapper, who sets up traps on his murder victims designed to kill first-responders to his crimes. Other characters in the game include homicide detective Becky Laney, and District Attorney Felicity Graves, both of which are playable characters in the game.

The biggest addition is the use of the PlayLink for PS4 on Hidden Agenda. PlayLink is essentially connecting the game to your mobile devices instead of using a controller, much like the Jack in the Box party games found on Steam. Here, however, it serves a dual purpose- not only does it serve as a second screen for players, it provides hidden information to players that they can utilize to target other players in the game.
One example is the use of hidden agendas, where players are given a secret goal to complete that no other player knows about. The goals of these hidden agendas are to try and steer players into helping you accomplish your goals while playing, adding another layer of social interaction into the title.
Developer Supermassive Games, the team behind Until Dawn, notes that there are some similarities to their previous work and Hidden Agenda, most notably the fact that any character can die at any time, leading to branching gameplay where your decisions will matter.
Hidden Agenda is scheduled for a 2017 release.
