It seems like Dying Light is the game that just won’t die. Originally released at the very start of 2015, the game has gotten several DLC packs and even a full expansion last year. It seems Techland is not done though, and more is on the way.
At an E3 event Techland announced that they would be creating 10 more packs of DLC for Dying Light over the course of the next year, all of which will be free. They didn’t say exactly what these packs would be or how in depth they would get, however they had plans to release the first pack “soon” and it would involve putting new enemies in the game for the player to fight. Techland did say that some of the DLC will include extra story content, but didn’t go beyond that. There’s a possibility that they’re prepping for a Dying Light 2 and making more DLC to tie into the game, especially since Techland hasn’t been doing much developing as of late.
If you haven’t played it, Dying Light is an open world zombie game where you use parkour to outmaneuver zombies. You can engage in melee and ranged combat, find new weapons with different stats to assist you, and have to help save a group of people that are quarantined and can’t escape from the city. If you want to learn more you can read our review of it. It received several small DLC packs, and in 2016 got a full expansion in the form of Dying Light: The Following, which added a new area where you could drive buggies around and run over zombies. Even after the release of the expansion the game was still getting small free updates to add in more things, like eye tracking.
Dying Light is available right now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
