Titanfall 2 Image Leak

Earlier today, the lead programmer for Titanfall 2, Jon Shiring, confirmed that although post-release maps and modes will be available to players, they will be free and they have no plans to put a price tag on this DLC.

The DLC for Titanfall were originally released at $10 per map, until Respawn Entertainment made it free on the first anniversary of Titanfall's release.

It was last year that news of Titanfall 2 was publicly confirmed by Respawn Entertainment's Vince Zampella, as well as the news that it would be a multi-platform title and not an Xbox exclusive as was the original Titanfall.

Titanfall 2 is set for a world wide release for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows on October 28, 2016.

Quick Take

I'm really impressed that Respawn Entertainment changed their stance on paying for DLC.  I know the criticism from players the last time they tried putting a price tag on DLC probably has something to do with it, but in an age where costly maps are the norm, it's refreshing to see a company not take the easy road out.  I'm pretty sure we'll still be sold content in Titanfall 2, but it might just be cosmetic changes and not new maps.  I also do wonder if Respawn Entertainment will revisit any of the maps from the first game, or if the maps in Titanfall 2 will all be completely original; I'd like to see how the old maps feel compare to the new maps, and see how the new Titans play on the old maps.
